The motor start and braking device of the VersiComb series from PETER electronic, for motor ratings up to 15KW, represents an alternative with a good cost-performance ratio in order to replace star-delta starting in combination with a d.c. braking device.
The devices of the VersiComb II type enable soft start and wear-free braking of three-phase asynchronous motors. Their advantages in comparison with direct-on-line starting or star-delta starting are a torque increase without jerk and current reduction during the starting phase.
This gives the mechanical system and the drive components a longer life.
