Cable protection conduit serves as both a cable protector and cable management system for electrical installations. They are installed in electrical systems in order to prevent impacts on cables, reduce mechanical stresses, prevent moisture, insulate against exterme temperatures and to easily locate electrical circuits.
Cable protection conduit can be used in any electrical installation where cables may be exposed over a certain length. They can be found in railway applications, for articulated robots, in extreme temperature zones, on building construction sites and in underground applications.
Cable protection conduit can be made out of metal, plastic and from fiber based materials. Their also exists flexible conduit which is used in special applications where vibration or movement is present. Manufacturers will also indicated the electrical standard, approval or level of protection for cable protection conduit.
Make sure to specify the type of environment your cable system will be exposed to, as there are different electrical standards for cable protection conduits. In addition, indicating the size and the number of cables you are looking to protect will change the size of your conduits diameter.
