Epson audio solutions offer a wide range of applications such as speech enabled portable devices, assistive applications for visually / speech impaired persons, educational toys, mobile handsets (ring tones and music playback) portable music players, automotive audio systems and automotive navigation systems.
Voice synthesis IC product corresponding to several languages that can be voice conversions.
Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson") today announced it has developed a new synthesis chip for embedded applications featuring Fonix text-to-speech (TTS). The S1V30120 is a companion chip that converts text-based characters into a synthetic speech signal, which is output via the integrated D/A converter. Since it uses a message protocol based on a clock-synchronous serial interface, the chip can be easily integrated with a wide range of host devices and microcontrollers.
The S1V30120 also supports decoding of ADPCM data, which allows mixtures of pre-recorded speech and synthetic speech to be combined as required. (For example, fixed phrases could be implemented using pre-recorded signals, while variable phrases would be synthesized.)
Target applications include a wide range of systems that require voice guidance such as those embedded in home appliances, buildings, and office/industrial equipment. |

| The ADV202 is a complete compression/decompression CODEC that is fully compliant to the JPEG2000 standard and is the only device in the market today that is capable of compressing and de-compressing both SD and HDTV video in real-time. Targeted at both still image compression and high-resolution video, the ADV202 performs the computationally intensive operations necessary to perform this new standard in a single chip. |

Highly accurate, analog front end product for scanning equipment with built-in timing generator.
The S1R77 Series is an analog front-end IC converting analog image data output from an inline image sensor such as CCD and CIS to digital data. I provides a selection of products incorporating a variety of peripheral circuits such as a clock generation circuit and differential output circuit, which contributes to space savings and total cost reduction, and results in effective EMI reduction. Using this series allows you to easily build a scanner system providing high-quality images.
The S1R77000 series of ICs includes the analog processing section (correlated double sampling, gain control, and A/D converter circuits) for image sensors such as charge coupled device (CCD) solid-state image sensors in addition to the clock forming circuits that drive them. Use of the new Epson products will enable designers to create systems offering high image quality with the minimum of stress.
The S1R77000 series contributes to space and overall cost savings by including a built-in timing generator for the image sensor. In addition, the S1R77013 includes a spectrum spread function, and the S1R77021 and S1R77081 include built-in RSDS(TM) interfaces that are effective in reducing electromagnetic interference. |

The AD725 is a very low cost general purpose RGB to NTSC/ PAL encoder that converts red, green and blue color component signals into their corresponding luminance (baseband amplitude) and chrominance (subcarrier amplitude and phase) signals in accordance with either NTSC or PAL standards. These two outputs are also combined on-chip to provide a composite video output. All three outputs are available separately at voltages of twice the standard signal levels as required for driving 75 ohm, reverse-terminated cables.
