Our product range contains a wide variety of enclosures which offer a selection of sizes, designs and materials. It is designed for single installations as well as for large distribution units. The dimensions of the enclosures are so designed that they can be combined into a large modular unit. A large number of components, such as contactors, switches, instruments and PLCs can be built into these enclosures. Naturally, customer-supplied equipment layout is designed by us to customer's requirements. Cable entry is either direct (cable glands or conduit entries) or indirect via en EEx e housing (stud-type or conductor bushings).
The design and installation of explosion-protected distribution and control boards having flameproof enclosures require considerable experience and careful consideration of relevant regulations in relation to the application data. Only thus are technically and economically satisfactory solutions, which combine a user-friendly design with a high degree of safety, possible. In addition to Ex-regulations, the general regulations must all be bserved in the assembly of distribution and control boards.
Standard industrial electrical equipment can be bult into enclosures. It is, however, subject to a "type test" by a recognised testing station. R. STAHL has such certificates issued by PTB permitting the assembly of explosion-protected systems for all standard applications.

We were dissatisfied with what was available for mounting single and multiple rail-mount instruments in the field, so we designed our own. Made of metal with a rugged clear polycarbonate cover, the R-BOX meets standards for enclosing indoor and outdoor electronics approved for use in instrinsically safe and non-incendive areas. It installs quickly and easily on a surface or pipe, or in a panel.
Use the R-BOX with our SPA and SPT Site-Programmable Alarms and Transmitters, TRY and SIY PC-Programmable Transmitters, and our complete line of economical ECT Signal Isolators, Converters, Repeaters, and Splitters.

EX enclosures are specially made for use in hazardous environments. They are designed, manufactured and tested to international standards. All certificates, such as ATEX, are issued by the manufacturer under license from a test authority. EX enclosures are made of either aluminium, polycarbonate or polyester.

Spacial 3D.ATEX enclosure
The new "ATEX European Directive", relating to equipment used in explosive, gas or dust-laden atmospheres imposes significant improvements in safety of persons and equipment in chemicals,
refining, flour-milling, grain storage, etc. From 1st July 2003, only those products that meet the requirements of this directive can be marketed and installed.

Junction boxes are used for carrying and distributing electrical power in hazardous areas. They are supplied in different sizes with and without small equipment fuse, and are therefore suitable not only as pure connection and distribution boxes, but also for protecting electrical loads up to 6,3 A. Cable glands in plastic are used as standard cable entries. Bell-mouthed or metal glands can be fitted if ordered. The metal cable entries are connected to the earthing system via brass plates.

The recently developed CUBEx control enclosure product line from R. STAHL now makes it possible to combine compex control and distribution panels into comprehensive, space-saving units. Adds a whole new dimension to individualised and flexible solutions for your applications. Other customer-specified control and distribution panel designs are also possible. The CUBEx system increases the flexibility of your applications and ensures that all internationally recognised installation technologies can be employed. All standard, commercially-available electrical equipment can be installed. The space-saving design of this IIB enclosure enables a mounting distance of just 10 mm between units. Moreover, flameproof enclosures incorporating "D2D" technology enable the direct connection enclosures or terminal chambers are required. CUBEx is the logical next step in the development of IIC tchnology integrated in the renowend 8220 Series. For use in Group IIB hazardous areas in Zone 1 and Zone 2 or Zone 21 and Zone 22.
The main connection switch of the lighting and heating panels CUBEx Series 8264/5-ExV is operated through the side wall via an actuation mechanism. The circuit breakers are fitted on the second mounting level and are actuated via totary drives. As an option it is possible to fit test keys to the ELCBs to make it possible to actuate the back wall of the enclosure for fixing the devices. Cable entry is done directly via tapped holes, wired directly to the switches. For current distribution the original comb type rails are used at the switching units. A typical design allows for 12 or 24 circuit breakers. Different designs upon request.

Smart cabinets with a single front door in finely polished Aisi 304 EN-1.4301 stainless steel.

The CEFEM dust SAFEBLOC ATEX is a cut-off and lock device intended to be used in areas with risk of explosion: zone 21 and 22, for dust "D", according to the EU directive 94/9/EC.
It complies with standards and regulations to ensure the safety of operators involved in the emergency break, the break for mechanical maintenance and the safety break beside any low-voltage circuit terminal.
They are composed of an IM switch disconnector, with a visible cut off, controlled by a right side handle, lockable by three padlocks on OFF position.
A position indicator (ON / OFF or I / O) allows you to view at one glance the position of the switch.
The cut-off system is clearly visible to the operator through a glass window triplex.
These 2mm thick boxes steel are very robust.
A double lock prohibits the opening of the door when the switch is ON and the closure of the switch when the door is open.

ComEx is a flexible system offering standard as well as customer-specific local control and indicating units.
You have the choice between three standard enclosures which can accomodate up to three different control and indicating devices. Combinations of up to three ComEx enclosures are possible.
Either stuffing box glands in M20 x 1.5 and M25 x 1.5 made of plastic or cable glands made of metal are available for the electrical connection. The plastic glands require no lock nuts. Metal glands are screwed into a metal earth plate sheet inside of the enclosure. Maximum amount of cable clands: two off M20.
To ensure easier operation on site, each enclosure can be equipped with an individual info-label. For offshore applications special oil-resistant attachments are available.

THERM HI "smart heater" is a system consisting of
an explosion-proof electric heater and a
microprocessor, designed to control the air
temperature in instrument enclosures and protective
cabinets and to limit the surface temperature of the
heater.
The "option E" is equipped with an intrinsically safe
sensor, thus allowing measurement and accurate
regulation of the temperature of the instruments and
equipment (e.g. of manifolds).
