Living in the stage of 20GB memory after passing through the dark-age of 1GB in 2002, the mobile & consumer electronics now start to feel the needs of NANDFlash's humongous density.
SAMSUNG's NAND Flash has firmly established itself as the key solution in many popular yet relatively new products such as digital still industrial camera, Handsets, MP3 players and USB Flash drives, etc.
NOR flash is a non-volatile memory that can hold the stored data even when the power is out. It also allows random data access, and provides fast reading and processing of data, which first made it ideal for code storage.
With the increased use of mobile devices like cellular phone, PDA, industrial digital camera, portable game professional consoles and MP3P, NOR flash is more widely used not only for code storage but also for data storage. It is also used in home appliances such as HDTV, DVD, Professional router, and GPS, and industrial and automotive uses are on the rise as well.
SAMSUNG's NOR flash is widely recognized for its superior features. The company also provides a total solution in the form of MCP, by offering a wide range of products including SRAM, UtRAM, NAND, and DRAM.

Atmel, a long time player and a market leader in EPROMs, manufactures 5V, 3V and Battery-Voltage (2.7V) EPROMs.
DataFlash® is the world's number one selling serial interface flash family. Introduced in 1997, Atmel's Dataflash families (45 series and the recently introduced 26 series) are feature rich, low pin count, sequential access families ideal for program code, data storage, Serial EEPROM replacement, and the next generation PC Bios Market.
Atmel is the world's #1 manufacturer of Parallel EEPROM products. These products are the highly flexible members of our Nonvolatile Data Storage Memory family. The Parallel EEPROM enables the user or application to update the stored data byte-by-byte or by full sector, while providing reliability benefits of high programming endurance and data retention, and faster read timing than Serial Interface protocols. |

Nonvolatile (NV) SRAM
These devices have fast reads/writes and the endurance of SRAM with the convenience of nonvolatile multiple memory configurations and package options available.
Single-Piece SMT Modules
Industry's only single-piece, surface-mount, nonvolatile (NV) SRAMs, these modules eliminate manual cap attachment and use standard pick-and-place equipment/reflow processes for assembly.
DIP Modules
These modules are high-performance NV SRAMs with unlimited write-cycle endurance. Available options include battery- and system-monitoring functions.
PowerCap Modules
These devices are similar to the DIP modules, but they are available in surface-mount packages. |

ROM emulation is a powerful and versatile method of microprocessor testing. ROM emulation has emerged as the technique of choice for microprocessor test and diagnostic applications. A microprocessor-based board is tested by replacing the professional boot ROMs on the Unit Under Test (UUT) with memory emulation pods. Each pod handles eight bits of the data bus. Processors from 8 to 32 bits can be controlled with one to four pods (even the most advanced CPUs such as the Intel Pentium generally use only an eight-bit boot path). The professional emulator takes control of the UUT by resetting the processor and, under the test program's control (monitor program), exercises all functions on the board. Synchronization with the UUT is automatic and requires no additional hardware or connections.
