Short reaction times and particularly high efficiency: the principles of a gas turbine and steam power plant are combined in a combined-cycle power plant. Efficiencies of up to 60% can be obtained by using a gas and a (downstream-arranged) steam turbine. Under combined operations (with integrated district heating supply) efficiencies of around 90% can be had.
In gas-fired plants as well, Hitachi Power Europe has both extensive know-how and a lengthy track record across the entire range stretching from planning via acquisition and design through to commissioning.
The highly successful and globally deployed H-25 / H-15 gas turbines from parent company Hitachi, Ltd. are the optimum ones for running power plants in a dependable, efficient and economical manner. Designed as a heavy duty machine (30 MW rating class), over 120 Hitachi gas turbines in power plants are in service throughput the world (as of mid-2009). The turbines are sound and dependable under continuous operations, involve low maintenance costs and are admirably suited for plants with cogeneration/district heating supply. Hitachi gas turbines are also used as power drive turbines in industry.

Today's marine propulsion systems must provide faster vessel speed, enable greater payloads or deliver more power per square foot of machinery space. When vessel speed is critical and space is a premium, gas turbines can be an ideal solution.
For fast patrol boats, fast attack craft, corvettes and hovercraft as well as commercial applications such as fast ferries and mega-yachts, marine propulsion is made simple with Vericor's aero-derivative gas turbine-based power plants. Our marine propulsion offerings, ranging from 4,000 to 10,000 shp are based on the TF Series gas turbines.
Compact & Lightweight:
Our TF Series gas turbines are compact, lightweight and provide many times the horsepower over diesel engines for the same installed weight at a lower installed volume. With a cold-end drive, the gas turbine can be integrated into the package by cantilever mounting directly to the reduction gear, or mounting to a horizontal support frame and coupled to the reduction gear with a shaft and coupling.
The TF Series turbines can provide efficient power to a variety of propulsors including fixed and variable pitch propellers, waterjets and, in the case of hovercraft, air props. The small size and light weight features of the TF Series also allow for the installation of single or multiple gas turbines in combined system configurations.

Fuel injection valves
As components of pump-line-nozzle injection systems, conventional fuel injection valves ensure that when a defined opening pressure of the fuel supplied by the injection pump is exceeded, the fuel is injected very quickly in a uniform fine atomization. Here not only a precise begin of injection is very important but also fast closing at the end of the injection process. Proper static and dynamic design of the injection hydraulics prevents so-called needle shocks. This reliably prevents from even very minor unintended post-injection with after-dribbling effects, something that is necessary to ensure smokeless engine operation.

Greater power, higher efficiency and availability and rugged design are key issues for mechanical drive markets.
With more than 15 million hours of proven performance, the cornerstones of our VPS Series packages are the compact, rugged, and reliable ASE Series aero-derivative gas turbines. Space and weight are at a premium in some mechanical drive applications, and the VPS Series packages have the smallest footprint and highest installed power to weight ratio in their class. This means that VPS Series twin-shaft mechanical drive packages are well suited for centrifugal pump and compressor applications onshore and offshore.
Our packages are designed for reliability, efficiency and simplified installation. The proven design incorporates a simple cantilever mounting of the ASE Series gas turbine to the speed reduction gearbox. The close-coupled design of the VPS Series packages minimizes the footprint and eliminates alignment concerns between the gas turbine and gearbox.
