STAHL CraneSystems is the specialist for high-performance cranes in the upper S.W.L. range. This naturally includes the double girder overhead travelling crane with an S.W.L. of up to 160,000 kg and a span of up to 30 m. Large, unwieldy loads can be handled extremely safely and accurately. This is particularly true when several hoists equipped with a precise electronic synchro control are used in tandem operation.
The double girder overhead travelling crane can be integrated into planned or existing buildings utilising special installation variants. The top hook position brings particular advantages on a double girder overhead travelling crane. The load hook is lifted between the crane girders. Additional requirements such as maintenance platforms on crab or crane, cabins or higher crane travel speeds can be achieved quickly and easily.

STAHL CraneSystems's single girder overhead travelling crane with an S.W.L. of up to 16,000 kg is flexible and astonishingly adaptable. It runs on the top flange of the crane runway. Its use enables rational, economical material flow solutions to be achieved even in low or small buildings.
The existing space can be utilised to the full by using various installation variants. The crane bridge girder can be individually adapted either -flush at top- (EL-A), -flush at bottom- (EL-B) or -raised up- (EL-C). A clearance of approx. 100 mm to the ceiling is specified for single girder overhead travelling cranes. Particularly in low-ceilinged rooms, this permits minimum headrooms and optimum adaptation to the building profile. The height of lift can be increased even further by using an STAHL CraneSystems cantilever crab.

|
STAHL CraneSystems's single girder suspension crane needs very little space. It runs on the lower flange of the crane runway which is mounted directly on the ceiling and achieves the greatest utilisation of space possible. In particular in the case of restricted production areas, this permits optimum utilisation of the width of the room.
The lifting capacity of STAHL CraneSystems single girder suspension cranes ranges up to 10,000 kg. Suspension cranes in neighbouring bays can be connected; the crane interlock functions completely free of jolts and knocks. The hoist can travel onto the neighbouring crane together with its load and can reach any destination in the interlocked system.

Girder Stength
A common misconception is that double girder bridge cranes are more durable. Based on the CMAA (Crane Manufacturers Association of America) specifications, both single and double girder cranes are equally rigid, strong, and durable. This is because single girder cranes use much stronger cross girders than double girder cranes, and single girder cranes have lateral bracing.
The Difference is in Hook Height
The principle difference between single and double girder cranes is hook height (how far above the floor your hoist will lift). Double girder cranes provide better hook height. Double girders typically allow 18-36 inches higher lift.
Double girder cranes can provide more lift, because the hoist is placed between the cross girders rather than under them. Therefore, the depth of the cross girder is gained in switching to double girders.
Cost Considerations
Single girder cranes may cost less for several reasons:
Only one cross girder is required
The trolley is simpler
Fright expenses are reduced
Installation is faster
Runway beams are lighter

Double Girder Bridge Cranes - XMD
The double girder construction of the XMD enables this crane to handle bigger loads and longer spans than the single girder design. The XMD has a lower construction height than the XMS, thus maximizing the available workspace. The XMD crane incorporates all the features common to the XM profile.
Smooth and silent load handling and long suspension distances
Load range 125 - 2000 kg
Three different configurations:
- Articulated
- Rigid for mainly motorized version
- Low headroom to maximize hook clearance
Hand operated or motorized trolley and bridge
Easy expansion

Twin girder crane
A twin girder crane system is the heavy-duty choice. The twin girders are welded together in a triangular construction to stabilize operation when handling loads up to 1500 kg. The twin girder crane is optionally equipped with motorized trolleys to automate the traveling motion of the girder and/or hoist. The two-speed motorized trolleys can be equipped with a frequency converter for more options.

Single girder crane aluminium
Boxes of eggs are palletized using a vacuum lifter in a crane system with both girder and bridge in aluminium profile. The low weight of the system is a great advantage for the operator who moves the crane bridge manually.

Our manual conveyors can be set up as transfer conveyors with small travelling cranes. Small travelling cranes are highly flexible and achieve significant space gains. Primarily used at paint facilities or for work station improvement, travelling platforms allow to combine both handling and sorting needs.
Fixed rails installed on either side of the transfer conveyor or conveyors are used for inventory.
The user of the small travelling crane can then choose from the inventory the part that he wants to process.

- Demag Standard Single Girder Crane products are designed to provide the optimal combination of performance and price.
- Our girder construction utilizes two types: WF beams or our unique box girder design.
- WF beams are used for cranes up through 10 ton capacity and 60 foot spans.
- Box girders are used for spans greater than 60 feet up through 10 tons and all spans up through 15 ton capacity. The design of the box girders provide for maximum strength with minimum weight. while modular end trucks allow for on-site installation.
- Standard bridge cranes include 2-speed selection for hoist and travel drives. Standard option packages include but are not limited to: variable frequency control, 2-speed variations, remote control, dual hoist arrangements and outdoor protection.
- Regardless of either girder type, our unique overhead crane design utilizes our modular end trucks and exclusive end truck girder connection. These features translate into savings based on increased performance and service life or our equipment. Additional savings are based on our ability for on-site installation which equates to reduced installation time and freight costs.

Underhung and Under-running cranes are two ways to refer to the same type of crane. With underhung cranes, the end trucks ride on the bottom flange of the runway beam rather than on top like other types of overhead cranes. With an underhung crane, the runway beam is often suspended from the roof, which eliminates the need for extra floor columns to support the runway. This can be advantageous if floor space and the need to reduce obstructions is a major issue in the factory or warehouse. An underhung crane may even be appropriate with sloped ceilings or multiple crane systems.
Underhung cranes can be either single girder or double girder. Double girder underhung cranes are often suitable for longer span or higher capacities.
However, underhung or under-running cranes are typically limited to lighter capacities (usually about 10 tons maximum).

For the lifting, replacing and the exact position is there, dependent of the consumer target, a choice of two cross crane designs.
The first is a cross crane construction which bridge crane is confirmed at two extended running gears, who extremely become accurate in the both longitudinal beams. That is why the bridge crane stays in all the circumstances fixed on both cross tracks. This kind of type crane is suitable for integration in a total monorail circuit or for utilization above a bath progression.
The second is a cross crane construction, which is mounted at two short running gears. The bridge crane within a load carrier has no problem to run around an obstacle. That is why it has the name articulated crane.
Both crane constructions are builded from standard components and simply to mound, to extend or to change with bolted joints.
The carrying capacity is step by step builded from 100 until 1000 kg.

The girder is a central component for slab and wall formwork systems and choosing the right one is crucial in achieving the highest possible level of cost-effectiveness. The decisive factors are the durability and handling costs - not the original investment.
Through the high load-bearing capacity and rigidity of the GT 24 compared to other 20-cm high formwork girders, fewer girders, steel walers or props are required for both wall and slab formwork.
Due to the high proportion of synthetic resin in the high-grade timber web, the PERI VT girder is able to maintain its high level of dimensional stability and robustness. Steel caps, secured with side-to-side rivets, provide strong impact and edge protection and extend the service life of the girder.
The VT 20K has been specially developed for use with slab formwork, and is the low-price option for thinner slabs.
