Gravity conveyors are used to transport products from one point to another, on a level push line or an inclined gravity flow line. The two principal types are wheel and roller. Gravity conveyors can be set up with or without curved sections, depending on needs. These versatile systems are found in many industrial applications, including production lines and storage shelves.
These conveyors often are found in warehouses and numerous other settings. Wheel models are used for flat, light objects, while roller versions can be used for irregularly-shaped items and different weights.
Push lines require manual assistance while inclined conveyors used gravity to transport the goods. Roller conveyors vary in size, depending on object weight. Wheel conveyors require less inclination, but are better suited to flat, light products.
The choice of type or inclination depends on the application and required speed. Available floor space is also an important factor.
