Sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, also referred to as "neo" magnets, have been commercially available since November 1984. They offer the highest energy product of any material today and are available in a very wide range of shapes, sizes and grades. Earliest use of neo magnets was primarily for voice coil motors (VCM's) in professional hard disk drives and this market industrial still accounts for about 55% of total sales dollars. Other applications include high performance motors, bldc motors, magnetic separation, magnetic resonance imaging, sensors and loudspeakers. |

General features:
The magnets offered by Sintex are isotropic made by pressing neodynium, iron, boron powder mixed with a polymer binder. The characteristics of the magnets from Sintex are high mechanical strength, and thus good magnetic properties.
Thin-walled ring shaped magnets can be made with no chipping of the edges. Height to diameter ratios of more than 2:1 even with a thin wall thickness is possible by our process.
Surface protection:
In specific applications a surface coating or treatment can be necessary to protect the magnet against the environment, e.g. water or excessive humidity. Sintex offers different possibilities regarding surface protection and further information on these may be requested from Sintex. |

Alloys of the Lanthanide group of elements, Rare Earths are the most advanced commercialized permanent magnet materials. Collectively known as Rare Earths are the Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) types and Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) types. Within each of these classes of Rare Earth magnets are a number of different grades which span a wide range of properties and application requirements.
Both NdFeB and SmCo are available in sintered as well as bonded forms. The bonded form of the material can be produced with close tolerances off tool, with little or no finishing required. The sintered form usually requires some finishing operations in order to hold close mechanical tolerances.
