Tests were carried out to compare the new S333 roughing cutter with a standard roughing cutter on AMG 1.5. On the S333, the combination of the toughness properties of the carbide material, the Super-G coating and the geometry of the tool (unequal helix, asymmetric chipbreaker profile) resulted in less tool vibration and less wear on the tool, compared to the standard roughing cutter. Consequently for the S333, the quality of the surface finish of the workpiece is higher and the tool life of the cutter is over 30% longer, resulting in less tool changes.

SERF (Sinusoidal Edge Rougher Finisher) design provides the benefits of a roughing mill with the edge quality of a finishing mill in a Polycrystalline Diamond double-flute tool on solid-carbide body.
The unique SERF geometry results in reduced impact forces during the cut resulting in longer tool life, less cutting force, greater feed rates and reduced noise.
Edge finish in fibrous composite materials is improved due to the overlapping sinusoidal edge pattern which is designed to impart a fiber shearing action during the cut.
Usage: Carbon Fiber, G-10 and other Fiberglass
