VDI tool holders are used on computer numeric control (CNC) lathes equipped with tool turrets. They constitute an accurate and fast method of holding tools for turning operations.
These devices are suitable for both axial and radial cutting, boring, threading, tapping and milling. They also can serve as driven, or live tool holders on CNC turning centers for drilling, milling and tapping operations.
VDI holders are manufactured to DIN 69880 specifications, and are designed to facilitate tool changes. They are made from high-strength steel, usually tempered and ground.
Be sure to specify right hand or left hand, and axial or radial use when selecting a VDI tool-holder.
