In the supply of power to electronic modules cabinet a control voltage of 24 V DC has become generally established around the world as the power supply for all electric modules. But other voltages are still in use. The power supply must be chosen with extreme care, because it is crucial for the reliable functioning of all the components it supplies.
Over many years Weidmüller´s power supplies have proven themselves in the supply of power to electronic modules. They are CE certified and comply with the requirements of DIN EN 50081-1 and DIN EN 50082-2 (EN 61000-6-2 with effect from 1st April 2002). Eaton APR48-3G Access Power Rectifiers are designed specifically for network access applications such as cellular base stations, customer premises equipment and road-side cabinet installations.
The new generation 3G architecture of the APR48-3G Access Power Rectifier has improved space utilisation so rack space can be maximised for use with telco equipment and not power equipment. Application
The ASi switch-mode power supply is a powerful and robust device to power sensitive loads in a hard industrial environment. These features result from the modern construction with a good radio shielding and high reliability integrated in a functional and stable casing. The short circuit proof output DC voltage is 30.5 V. This power supply is optimally suited for loads requiring
high starting currents.
Functional principle
In the ASi power supply a flyback converter operates to transform the energy in two steps. During the conducting phase the diode is blocking, the inductor is energized and a magnetic field establishes. There is no electrical transmission; the consumer load is supplied with energy from the capacitor.
When the switching transistor opens, the blocking phase begins. The current in the inductor cannot change immediately, discharges through the diode and a negative voltage establishes at the inductor.
Now operating like a power source the inductor reloads the capacitor and supplies the consumer with energy. The energy flows from the inductor into the capacitor and the consumer and through the conducting diode back to the inductor.
