Compressed Air has many advantages in modern production processes and its nearly unimaginably to think working without.
Nevertheless, it is one of the most costly forms of energy as 95% of the energy used to created pressurized air is foregiven as heat, mechanical and other losses. Furthermore, as it is invisible and often distributed over long piping infrastructures, leakages are unfortunately common, thus increasing costs even more.
Strategies to reduce the amount required and making aware about leakages exist, but real technical measures are only slowly implemented - this also because proper measuring devices were lacking until now.
