Piezo LEGS operates directly, with no need for gears or mechanical transmission, to create a backlash free linear motion with nanometer or even sub-nanometer resolution. The Piezo LEGS Linear Twin-C 20N motor is specially designed for applications within optics and laser. With standard optical mount interface it is easy to substitute your convetional motor or micrometer screw with this high resolution piezo motor.
The motor is easily set up with simple drive electronics. It is ideal to use the motor in move and hold applications since there is no power draw in hold position.
In the Piezo LEGS, multiple bimorph actuators are co-sintered to a single body with movable legs made out of ceramic “muscles”.
