Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor

The SR7000DC provides high quality Surface Plasmon Resonance data in an instrument design that is adaptable to specific experimental needs. Capabilities range from data for high quality kinetic studies to combining SPR with electrochemistry, photochemistry, liquid chromatography and Mass Spec. The instruments architecture and software is adaptable to user needs. The sensing unit implements high quality optics and temperature control from 10C to 90C to achieve very low noise (0.3 microRIU noise, drift less than 0.1 microRIU/minute). The SR7000DC’s high sensitivity allows the measure binding of small molecules (200 Dalton) to a surface of immobilized biomolecules. The sensing unit has no moving parts and no routine maintenance requirement. The experimental set-up is similar to HPLC in approach and is designed to allow maximum flexibility in selecting loop size, tubing size and material, flow cell configuration, and pump speed. The average user can change over the entire fluidics set-up in 10 minutes. As a result, a lab can easily perform routine maintenance using commonly available catalog tubing and connectors without technician assistance or a maintenance contract. Additional flexibility comes in the choices for injecting samples ranging from semi-automatic to fully automatic with 96/384 well plates, which can be added at any time. Reichert has developed a pump with capabilities specific to SPR volume and flow requirements. e.g. very small samples can be injected into the flow cell and pulsed back and forth over the active surface to allow for long capture times with small amount of analyte.
