The parabolic sensor with laser sighting increases the range of detection of the SDT270 considerably. The parabolic shape concentrates direct beam ultrasound waves which makes this sensor the most directional of all the airborne sensors.
The dish is transparent for easy visualisation objects while measuring. For pin pointing the object to measure, the parabolic sensor has two sights: a crosshair sight and a very effective laser sight.
