Big bags, also called jumbo bags, super sacks or FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container), are used as intermediate storage containers for loose, semi-finished materials, such as fabric, sand, fertilizers, plastic granules and in the confection processes. They are often made of polypropylene or thick, woven polyethylene, and are fitted with straps (one, two or four) for transport.
Big bags are used in numerous industries for various applications, such as mining, agricultural products and foodstuffs, cement, chemical products, oil by-products, waste products, construction materials, soil products and for many other industrial production and storage needs.
Big bags are most often made of thick, woven polyethylene or polypropylene, either coated or uncoated. The bags are available in different types, all with the same basic form. Open-top bags can have two, three or four carrying straps. Other types include those with a top fill skirt and a flat bottom, with top skirt and bottom drain funnel, and top filler neck and flat bottom.
