How to choose this product
A tail lift is an elevator system mounted on a vehicle to facilitate safe, independent cargo handling by the driver. It can be used to load or unload material, its operation varying with the type of vehicle.
These devices are offer significant advantages for merchandise transport, distribution, delivery and cargo handling at loading docks.
Generally, the vehicle's battery powers an electro pump which activates pistons. There are three types of lift. Fold-up models offer simple, rapid operation and can handle heavy loads. On the road, the platform folds up vertically against the truck's cargo doors.
Foldaway lifts fold beneath the vehicle's rear overhang. In retractable versions, the platform slides beneath the rear of the truck. The latter two types allow free access to the cargo bed without deploying the lift. Platforms are usually steel or aluminum.
How to choose
Choice will depend on vehicle type, chassis characteristics, battery capacity and similar parameters. Other factors include the nature and weight of loads to be handled.
