On March 25th 1991, shortly after the reunion of Germany, the Ematik GmbH was founded. Founding partners were the SKET SMM GmbH Magdeburg (about 2,500 employees) and the Elektromatik Dortmund GmbH (about 100 employees). By the Elektromatik Dortmund GmbH, a company producing switchgears, electrical engineering know-how has been introduced. The shareholder SKET SMM GmbH contributed jobs in the fields of rolling mill technology, cable and stranding equipment, cranes, oil machinery, environmental technology and processing technology. At the start of business activities Ematik carried out extensive training programs to develop the skills of the employees according to the new tasks.
1995 The shares of the company were taken in a management buy out by Dipl.-Ing. Henner Doernenburg and Dipl.-Ing. Frank Juling. It was followed by a successful expansion of the company. Thus the Ematik GmbH is able to offer complete services from the manufacture of control cabinets, hardware and software design, visualization and database programming.
1998 Ematik GmbH became Wonderware system integrator
2004 Ematik GmbH became Solution Partner Siemens AG.
2006 The business for development of extruders from the engineering firm Dr.-Ing. Gruengreiff was integrated into the Ematik GmbH. The brand name of the extruder series is SKETmatik and is a registered trademark. In the same year Underwriters Laboratories Inc. certified Ematik GmbH for the manufacture and labeling of switchgear according to UL508a. The File Number is: E303737. Also in 2006 the quality system certificate was issued in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
2008 The company moved to the new head office at the airport of Magdeburg.With 800 square meters of office space, a pilot plant for the single screw extruders and a 700 square meter production workshop, the foundation for a successful development was prepared.
2011 Ematik GmbH is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
2014 Expansion of the company grounds to 7,000 square meters. Building of a second production workshop with 800 square meters.

Our success is based on constant improvement and development. For instance we are one of only a few manufacturers who have developed their own technology for a series of torque motors to eliminate the need for gearboxes.
The main principle of the SKETmatik extruders is that they are manufactured with an open construction for easy access for maintenance. Strict design principles and quality control are obligatory to meet our customer’s requirements.
The processing units, with L/D ratios from 20 to 40 and carefully matched drive units help to guarantee the optimised processing of all extrudable thermoplastic materials.
Our Single Screw Extruders are designed based on the latest scientific and technological findings and are individually built to suit the particular customers requirements.
Our range of extruders which can be optimised to suit your application are manufactured as:
•Main Extruders from 38 to 200 mm screw diameter,
•Co-Extruders from 16 to 45 mm screw diameter
•Laboratory-Extruders from 12 to 75 mm screw diameter
The advantages of having our machines optimised to meet specific requirements are:
•Linear output with low pulsation.
•Excellent homogenous melt combined with low melt temperature.
•Moderate melt pressure within the barrel thereby optimising the power needed for the melt process.
