Description

Product Overview
Chimera Land is a Laser Velocity Sensor (LVS) engineered to provide highly accurate 3D body-velocity measurements for uncompromised dead reckoning reliability. It supplies direct 3D velocity updates to an INS navigation filter, bypassing inaccuracies common to mechanical odometry and enabling extended navigation performance in GNSS-compromised, denied or degraded environments.

Performance Highlights
  • 3D Dead Reckoning Positional Error per Traveled Distance: ~0.05% TD (CEP50)† (when paired with Boreas D90, based on distance 1 to 100 km, average velocity ≥ 7 km/hr)
  • 3D Body-Velocity Scaling Error: 200 ppm (max)

Key Features
  • Highly Accurate 3D Velocity: Measures vehicle 3D body velocity with high sensitivity and update rate using infrared (IR) laser Doppler velocimetry, enabling tracking of vibration, wind buffering and wheel slip.
  • Exceptional Long-Duration Dead-Reckoning: When fused with Advanced Navigation INS products (e.g. Boreas series, Certus Evo) delivers extended dead-reckoning accuracy, valuable in underground, jammed or spoofed GNSS environments.
  • Effective Across Diverse Terrains: Designed to operate on sand, dirt, rock, grass, gravel and paved surfaces, and in complex environments including tunnels, open pits and mountains.
  • Rugged Reliability: Engineered for extreme environments encountered in mining and defense operations.
  • Certified for demanding environments: designed to meet MIL-STD-461G and MIL-STD-810H.

Applications
  • Fleet Management
  • Underground Localization and Navigation
  • High Precision Machine Guidance
  • Haulage
  • Tactical Vehicles
