Description

Overview
DC-4 from AEG Power Solutions fulfils stringent industrial DC power requirements by combining high efficiency, controlled DC output and a sinusoidal AC input current waveform. The system is designed for demanding processes such as electrolyzers and other high-voltage industrial applications. Power factor exceeds 0.99 and input current distortion is minimised to meet grid codes.

Details
The DC-4 is based on a proven IGBT rectifier using the VIENNA topology to allow fully controlled DC voltage output and zero reactive power demand. The wide output voltage range enables load voltages up to 1500 Vdc. Each module supplies up to 1600 A and multiple modules (up to 8) can be interconnected to build multi-MW power blocks.

Highlights
  • Type: Rectifier (AFE IGBT)
  • Power output: 0–2.355 MW
  • Maximum per unit: up to 1500 Vdc | 1600 A | 2.4 MW
  • Input voltage (reported): 0.23–35 kV (typical spec: 0.4–35 kV)
  • Phases: 3-phase

Benefits
  • Reliable high-voltage DC supply (up to 1500 Vdc) with high efficiency
  • Fast dynamic response for varying process demands
  • Lower total cost of ownership through high efficiency and modularity
  • VIENNA topology supports cold start (full current control from 0 Vdc)
  • Improved electrolyzer lifetime due to high-quality DC supply and integrated polarization rectifier
  • High power density reduces footprint and installation cost
  • Integrated safety circuit up to SIL2 (EN 61508) for safe shutdown
