Access_Ctrl is Åkerströms’ digital service for access control and security monitoring, developed to complement Remotus radio remote control in safety-critical industrial environments where cranes and heavy lifting are used.

Through RFID-based login, Access_Ctrl ensures that only authorized and trained personnel can use the radio remote control to operate cranes. The system integrates seamlessly with existing RFID card solutions, allowing companies to use their existing employee credentials. A web-based interface provides a clear overview of operators, usage, and events.

By continuously collecting operational data, Access_Ctrl provides a basis for preventive maintenance based on actual usage. Daily crane inspections are carried out directly in the radio control transmitter, where the operator is guided through the checks and the inspection is automatically recorded. Together, this helps identify deviations and wear at an early stage, reducing the risk of accidents and unplanned downtime - without manual paperwork.

As a complement to the digital service, Åkerströms also offers VR-based simulators for the education and training of crane operators. The simulators enable safe and effective training in realistic environments and help further strengthen safety in daily operations.
