Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) gets in the air primarily through emissions from cars, trucks, buses, power plants and factories as a by-product of the combustion process. Its presence in air contributes to the formation and modification of other air pollutants such as ozone, particulate matter and acid rain. Exposure irritates airways and can aggravate respiratory diseases, particularly asthma, leading to symptoms such as coughing, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Longer term exposures to elevated concentrations of NO2 may contribute to the development of asthma and potentially increase susceptibility to other respiratory infections. People with asthma, as well as children and the elderly are generally at greater risk of the negative health effects of NO2. At Alphasense our Nitrogen Oxide Sensors (NO2 Sensors) are manufactured to the highest quality standards, resulting in products which are both highly accurate and highly sensitive across both the air quality and gas safety markets. Alphasense NO2 Sensors Alphasense Nitrogen Dioxide Sensors (NO2 Sensors) are available in a wide range of formats and both PPM and PPB variants, making them suitable for use in variety of applications, from fixed and portable detection instruments to environmental monitoring systems and networks. A: 20mm diameter, the industry standard size for portable gas detectors B: 32mm diameter package, the best choice for fixed site applications D: miniature, with proven long-term performance.
