Description

Since launching our ground-breaking range of Alphasense PPB Air Quality sensors back in 2014, we have continued to prioritise the development of low-cost sensors with the aim of improving global air quality. Following extensive R&D in the field of Volatile Organic Compounds, we are delighted to announce the launch of two new electrochemical sensors, the VOC-A4 and VOC-B4, both of which have been developed specifically to target VOC’s. Designed to work alongside our existing range of sensors, the VOC-A4 and B4 will detect a variety of compounds including Benzene, Formaldehyde and Ethanol. Both sensors have excellent response times, low power consumption and can be used in a bespoke circuit or with our individual sensor boards (ISB) in the case of the B4 or alongside other sensors in our multiport Analogue Front-End boards (AFE) in the case of the A4. The Alphasense VOC electrochemical VOC-A4 and VOC-B4 sensors are the perfect companions for our amperometric 4-electrode air quality sensors. In environmental air quality applications, the VOC-A4 and VOC-B4 should be used in combination with one of our A-Series (CO-A4) or B-Series (CO-B4) Carbon Monoxide sensors. Although we recommend using these sensors at 0V for air quality applications, the voltage for both the VOC-A4 and VOC-B4 can be altered to operate at V, 0.1V, 0.2V or 0.3V, allowing the option to detect a range of different gases.
