OverviewWood chips, sawdust, wood shavings and other lumpy biomasses (e.g. biogas substrate) can be ground with the KAHL pan grinder mill. The machine is designed for biomasses with varying surface, consistency and moisture content and is particularly suited for processing wood products in pellet plants or other material preparation stages.
Key features- Pan grinder rollers provide combined crushing and grinding action
- Capacity range from a few hundred kg/h up to more than 40 t/h
- Designed for minimum energy consumption
- Silent operation with a compact footprint
- Typical operation without aspiration system, cyclone, filter or exhaust-air plant
- No ATEX issues when crushing wood chips under normal conditions
Processing and operation detailsWet grinding is suitable for G30 and G50 wood chips; the pan grinder mill tolerates higher moisture contents commonly found in wood and other biomasses. Feed material can be pre-ground using a conventional hammer mill when required.
Applications- Grinding of wood chips, sawdust and wood shavings
- Processing of lumpy biomass and biogas substrates
- Preparation of material for wood and biomass pellet plants or subsequent processing stages
