Description

Product overview
The Amphenol SOCAPEX SIHD is a monolithic board-to-board connector engineered for use with thermal clamps to control cross-talk and accommodate limited lateral play in harsh aerospace environments. It provides repairable contacts, lateral rails protecting male contacts, and a right-angle mating interface in a medium-density staggered grid for high contact counts. Offering selectable central ground strips, the SIHD supports high-speed signal transmission while facilitating differential-pair routing.

Key features
  • Contact design allowing ±0.25 mm lateral displacement
  • Monolithic connector optimized for use with thermal clamps
  • Medium-density staggered grid (2.54 mm [.100] with 1.905 mm [.075] between rows)
  • Available arrangements reported from 102 to 256 contacts (multiple arrangements offered)
  • Repairable contacts for simplified maintenance
  • Lateral rails protecting male contacts for improved durability in severe environments

Applications
  • Commercial and military aerospace systems
  • C5ISR and other defense electronics requiring high contact density and signal integrity

Technical information (summary)
  • Optional central ground strips to reduce cross-talk and self-impedance (approx. 70 Ω to 120 Ω) and to support high-speed signals
  • Special contact geometry permitting ±0.25 mm lateral displacement; lateral rails shield male contacts from external damage
  • Right-angle board-to-board connection suitable for compact electronic stacks
  • Electrical: 3 A per signal contact; DWV 750 Vrms at sea level; measured noise reduction with ground strip ≤ 400 mV (0.1 A per contact, 2 ns rise time)
  • Environmental: 500 mating cycles; operating temperature range −55 °C to 125 °C
  • Materials & platings: RoHS-compliant versions available

Additional description
The SIHD is designed for low weight and high contact density while ensuring serviceability in the field. Central ground strips are optional to improve EMC performance and ease routing of differential pairs. Repairable contacts and robust protective rails make the connector suitable for severe-environment airborne applications where maintenance and signal integrity are critical.

Technical specifications
  • Lateral displacement tolerance: ±0.25 mm
  • Current rating: 3 A per signal contact
  • Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV): 750 Vrms at sea level
  • Noise reduction with ground strip: ≤ 400 mV (0.1 A per contact, 2 ns rise time)
  • Mating durability: 500 mating cycles
  • Operating temperature range: −55 °C to 125 °C
  • Pitch / density: medium density; 2.54 mm [.100] staggered grid; 1.905 mm [.075] between rows
  • Arrangements: examples reported include 6 arrangements from 102 to 256 contacts; additional arrangements available
  • Connector type: monolithic right-angle board-to-board connector for use with thermal clamps
  • Contact maintenance: repairable contacts
  • Versions: RoHS-compliant versions available
