The factory setting is quite sufficient in many cases. To deal with specific demands, the sensitivity and other functions can be adjusted / parametrized for the application in question. For instance, the effects of splashing, wave effects and air bubbles can be masked out by setting a switching delay. In addition, the process temperature can be measured at the probe tip.
