Description

Overview
The iWAPXD5 is a rugged wireless enclosure system designed for deploying wireless technologies safely in Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 hazardous areas. It is a higher-capacity version of the iWAP107, providing more internal space to accommodate larger wireless devices while remaining vendor-agnostic and certified for hazardous environments.

Key benefits
  • Enables deployment of Wi‑Fi access points, UHF RFID readers, LTE routers and other wireless devices in hazardous areas
  • Vendor‑agnostic: supports wireless equipment from any manufacturer
  • Intrinsically safe RF outputs allow the use of standard (non‑certified) antennas
  • Rugged construction with IP66 ingress protection and wide operating temperature range
  • Designed for straightforward installation and low maintenance in industrial hazardous sites
  • Configured and built to customer specification with standard and extended warranty options

Features
  • Supports any wireless technology from any vendor
  • ATEX and IECEx certified for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22
  • Allows non‑certified antennas via intrinsically safe RF outputs
  • IP66 rated enclosure, marine‑grade aluminium standard, 316L stainless steel optional
  • Optimised for simple installation and low maintenance in hazardous areas
  • Configured to suit specific application requirements

Product details
The iWAPXD5 provides a larger internal volume than the iWAP107 to support larger wireless devices and more complex configurations. Up to eight intrinsically safe RF outputs are available so standard antennas can be connected safely, increasing design flexibility for hazardous area wireless networks. The enclosure is engineered for demanding industrial environments while remaining practical to install and maintain. Support, configuration and build‑to‑order options are available from the manufacturer's engineering and production teams.

Intrinsically safe RF outputs
The enclosure provides up to eight intrinsically safe RF outputs allowing standard antennas to be used safely in hazardous areas, enabling flexible network design while maintaining compliance with hazardous area requirements.

Support and installation
Designed to simplify installation and maintenance in hazardous areas; intrinsically safe RF outputs reduce the need for specialised components and help minimise installation time and downtime. Manufacturer support and configuration services are available to tailor builds to site requirements.
