Graphic overlay for keyboards

Overview
The capacitive touch panel forms the user interface for activating keyboard keys by touch. It is a flat surface typically manufactured in glass or plastic, with special versions available for scratch resistance, anti-glare, anti-smudge, shatterproof or reinforced glass for ATEX compliance. The CTK capacitive sensor is bonded behind the panel to create the complete touch interface.

Graphic finishing and effects
Screen-printing provides the required graphic layout. Additional functional and aesthetic effects include backlit icons and the «dead front» effect (keyboard appears all black when off; selected icons are revealed by backlighting).

Sensor and assembly
The CTK capacitive sensor is bonded to the rear side of the panel and assembled to form the capacitive touch interface.
