Description

The ESD ball joint vise SPANNFIX is a dissipative, rotatable ball-and-socket vise designed for secure clamping to workbenches and use in electrostatically protected areas (ESD). It offers stepless locking and quick-release operation for ergonomic positioning of workpieces.

Features
  • Precision ball joint rotatable 360°, steplessly lockable quick release
  • For clamping to the workbench (table thickness max 80 mm)
  • 50 mm ESD plastic jaws with grip (standard small jaws)
  • Clamping width 70 mm, clamping depth 38 mm, clamping pressure 1470 N
  • Inclination angle ±45°
  • Spare parts: jaws, article 9-900-E50-ESD (pair)
  • Cast aluminium with black ESD powder coating, dissipative 10^7 to 10^8 Ω
  • Dimensions approx. 310 x 170 x 75 mm
  • Weight approx. 1450 g

Area of application
A slight lever pressure is sufficient to align the clamped workpiece steplessly into any reasonable working position. Individual adjustment of the working height provides an ergonomic posture for standing work (drilling, sawing, grinding, milling, cutting, etc.). Interchangeable jaws are available (50 mm plastic jaws for the small vise, 100 mm steel jaws for the large vise). Protective jaws for sensitive workpieces are available in felt, leather, cork and rubber coatings. Vise jaws with prisms (aluminium) are suitable for clamping pipes. Jaw widths are available from 50 to 150 mm. The screw-on vice fastening can be connected to workbenches, tables and base plates via four 9 mm through holes.

Technical description
Maximum torque: ball Ø 40 mm approx. 24 Nm, ball Ø 60 mm approx. 100 Nm. ESD versions are dissipative (10^7 to 10^8 Ω) and EPA-suitable for electrostatically protected areas. Foot sections can be connected to a grounding point with a 10 mm push button. Cast aluminium parts are powder-coated; steel parts are chrome-plated and rust-free. The movement of the ball can be adjusted via an adjusting screw on the lower seat of the ball (from loose to very firm). For safety-relevant parts the holding forces depend on the specific application and physical conditions and may differ from laboratory tests.
