Product summaryThe BR spike barrier controls vehicle transit in the authorized direction. Fitted with steel spikes that can be oriented outwards or inwards, the barrier lowers and rises on command to allow or block vehicle passage. It is designed to limit forced vehicle entry attempts and to meet perimeter security requirements for industrial, nuclear, airport and prison sites.
Attributes- Compact design for space-constrained installations
- Outdoor-rated for exterior installation
- Designed and manufactured in France
- Integrated detection for malicious acts
- Contactless operation (no direct handling required)
Detailed descriptionThe BR barrier assembly includes a motor compartment, a lacquered steel base box, alternating-height steel spikes and a tread plate made of checker plate steel. Spikes can be set to face outwards or inwards depending on operational requirements. The system is sized to control individual vehicle lanes and withstand impact attempts.
How it works- Upon authorization from the access control system, the spike bed lowers automatically to permit vehicle access.
- Available passage lengths: 3 m, 4 m, 5 m and 6 m.
- Opening cycle: < 2 seconds to support high vehicle throughput.
- Alternating spike heights of 130 mm and 200 mm reduce the risk of tyre bypass at low speeds.
- Main assemblies: motor compartment, lacquered steel base box, steel spikes, checker tread plate.
DesignThe motor compartment is in RAL 2009 lacquered steel (orange). The tread plate, base and motor compartment cover are in RAL 9011 lacquered steel (black).
Security- For correct engagement of the tread plate, vehicles must travel at a maximum speed of 10 km/h.
- The system enables a full stop over a distance of several dozen metres, minimising the risk of severe driver injury during forced-entry attempts.
Equipment and control- Managed by a programmable logic controller (PLC).
- Operated via external control, a two-position emergency switch, or a 3-button manual control panel (raise, lower, emergency stop).
- Equipped with a manual mechanical clutch for operation during power failures or malfunctions.
OptionsRecommended additional safety equipment: integrated automatic rising barrier, two-colour traffic lights, magnetic loops at site entrance and exit.
Service & SupportPreventive maintenance and manufacturer support services are available to ensure equipment availability and proper operation.
