Product overview
The Universal Bug-O-Matic is a rail-mounted track welder that integrates a drive unit and a precision welding oscillator in a compact housing. It is designed for single-operator handling and operates in all welding positions, including vertical and overhead. Interchangeable carriages allow use on rigid, semi-flex, hi-flex or complete ring rails; the carriage opening mechanism permits installation or removal at any point on the rail.

Welding & motion control
The unit provides adjustable travel speed, amplitude, oscillation speed, dwell left and dwell right. During welding, the torch can be steered via a dedicated knob. Closed-loop feedback and dynamic braking ensure precise starts/stops and a constant travel speed under load.

Auto Height Control (AHC)
The optional Auto Height Control uses amperage sensing to maintain a constant torch-to-work distance by motorized adjustment of the torch position. AHC offers 51 mm (2") of vertical travel, time delay after arc strike, and automatic shutdown if current falls below a set threshold. Manual jog override is available; AHC resumes when released.

Pendant control
A remote control pendant enables operation from up to 3 m away and clamps to the machine handle for storage. A Control Orientation Reversing switch is standard to match pendant controls to machine orientation when running multiple units on a ring.
