Charles Industries’ pedestals are available to order with low-profile square bases designed for mounting directly to below grade enclosures (BGE), including vaults, handholes, and “flower pot” type designs. Charles Industries pedestals ordered with a vault mount base option, ships with all necessary hardware (L-brackets, nuts, bolts and washers and moisture barrier pad) to attach the base to most BGE covers. Charles Industries pedestals with vault mount bases are identified with a “V” within the part number. The following table compares the nomenclature for pedestals with vault mount bases versus the pedestals with standard direct buried bases. Select Charles TRUE (Tier Rated Underground Enclosures) are available with a split lid design that accommodates Charles’ vault mount base pedestals, including the BDO, CFDP, CFFP and CFXC Series. Vault mount pedestal lids are available for TRUE 24”x36”x24” and 30”x48”x36” sizes. On these models, a vault mount pedestal can be placed on the half of the split lid that features a cut-out and mounting brackets designed to accept Charles square base, vault mount pedestals. 6”, 8” and 10″ diameter pedestals may be placed on the TRUE 24”x36”x24” enclosure, while 8″, 10” and 12” diameter pedestals may be placed on the TRUE 30”x48”x36” enclosure.
