AFR-3S Arc flash relays are mainly used to detect arc faults in electrical systems and protect equipment and personnel in electrical systems from arc faults. The arc flash protection relay can detect arcs by monitoring parameters such as current, voltage, and electric power, and quickly disconnect the power supply before an electrical fire occurs, thereby reducing the risk of fire. AFR-3S Arc flash relay is usually used in medium and high-voltage power distribution systems, control cabinets, transformers, generators, motors, and other electrical equipment. They adopt the dual-criteria principle of arc light detection and overcurrent detection and have the characteristics of fast protection action and high reliability. Arc Flash Detection The AFR-3S is our new advanced arc flash relay, which adopts a dual criteria (current and arc sensing) for arc flash detection. Only the arc flash hanppen and the current overload the presetting values, it will alarm for arc flash. It offers not only arc flash protection, but also circuit breaker failure protection. Mulit-channel Input and Output Options The AFR-3S supports up to 6 binary inputs for Circuit breaker, Device maintenance, optional smoke sensor, Reserved function, and Common terminal. Moreover, there are 3 arc sensor inputs so it can collect 3 channels of arc light signals similusiously. other optional sensor inputs include temperature sensor inputs and partial discharge sensor inputs. As for AFR-3SR arc flash relay output, it has 4 or 6 relay outputs for arc action, alarm, circuit breaker trip, etc.
