OverviewairmoS is a fully automatic isothermal gas chromatograph for analysis and continuous monitoring of sulfur compounds (mercaptans & sulphides) in ambient air. The system is optimized for trace-level sulfur quantification and integrates an auto GC with valve, a sample trap, metallic capillary columns and a sulfur-specific photometric flame detector (FPD).
Main specifications- Continuous, uninterrupted sampling for real-time surveillance
- Sample injection into the column oven for chromatographic separation
- Controlled oven that selects optimum temperature profiles depending on application
- Detection via a sulfur-specific photometric double flame detector (FPD)
Technical Specifications- Detection limits with trap:
- 0.1 ppb (double sulfur compounds, e.g. DMDS, CS2)
- 0.2 ppb (single sulfur compounds, e.g. MM, DMS)
- Detection limits with loop (option):
- 14 ppb for H2S / SO2 / MM / EM / DMS / DES / COS
- 8 ppb for DMDS & CS2
- Detection range with trap:
- 0.2 to 10 ppb (amplification 2)
- 1 to 40 ppb (amplification 1)
- Detection range with loop (option):
- 0.01 to 10 mg/m3 or 0 to 600 mg/m3 (compound-dependent)
- Example for H2S: 0.01 to 10 mg/m3 ≈ 7 ppb to 7 ppm
- Relative Standard Deviation (RSD):
- Concentration results (amplification 1) ≤ 5%
- Retention time for all compounds (amplification 1) ≤ 2% and SD ≤ 2 s
- Results and data handling:
- Full result storage including chromatograms
- Embedded Windows®-based computer with 10'' TFT color LCD
- 128 GB SSD hardware storage
- 4 USB ports and 2 RS-232 ports
- Cycle time:
- 10 min in airmoS or chromaS single mode
- 30 min in dual mode (option): 10 min chromaS + 20 min airmoS
- Gas supply:
- Carrier gas: N2 recommended (compressed air possible) 3 bar (5 ml/min) 1/8"
- Sample inlet: -1 bar or ambient pressure (airmopump)
- Sampling dryer: 150-200 ml/min of dry air
