OverviewThe Crest TS-1600 PRO-S is a heavy-duty industrial laminator with an integrated precision slitting unit, engineered for tape converting and frequent changeovers. It combines extreme nip pressure with high-temperature bonding and advanced winding control to produce silvering-free, bubble-free, perfectly wound rolls.
Key features- Up to 8 N/mm roller pressure with a specially selected industrial rubber compound to eliminate silvering on rough surfaces and UV-curable inkjet prints.
- High-performance heated top roller up to 150°C for thermal bonding where required.
- Integrated precision slitting system (crush-cut) with 7 adjustable blades (modular and expandable).
- Special differential windup shafts for consistent tension control across multiple lanes and perfect winding of small and large rolls.
- Rotatable HMI touchscreen with digital readouts for live monitoring of speed, temperature and roller pressure; full operator control and advanced safety functions.
- Robust industrial frame designed for continuous daily production at extreme pressures.
Applications- UV print finishing and precision slitting for Print Service Providers (PSPs) and industrial finishers.
- Traffic sign manufacturing requiring weather-resistant lamination and precise roll processing.
- Decorative film and premium finishing where flawless surface quality and exact roll dimensions are required.
- Converting large parent rolls into multiple, ready-to-use smaller rolls in a single pass.
Suitable materials- UV-printed substrates and UV-curable inkjet output
- Pressure-sensitive overlaminates (cold)
- Thermal lamination films
- Decorative foils and sheet/roll materials
- Traffic sign substrates and rigid boards up to 10 mm thickness
How it prevents silveringThe combination of exceptionally high, uniform roller pressure (up to 8 N/mm) and a specially engineered rubber compound forces microscopic air out of textured or uneven UV-printed surfaces, producing an optically clear, unbroken bond without hazy silver streaks.
Precision slitting & differential windupThe integrated slitting unit uses crush-cut blades that cut against a hardened steel bottom roller for clean edges. Differential windup shafts actively compensate for material tension or thickness variations across the width, ensuring each small roll is wound with uniform tension and preventing telescoping or loose windings.
Operator interface & controlThe rotatable HMI touchscreen enables seamless operation from both sides of the machine and delivers precise digital readouts of production parameters. The system supports live monitoring of speed, temperature and NIP/pressure and is designed to optimize operator workflow.
Modularity & optionsThe slitting module is modular and can be expanded with additional crush-cut blades. Factory options include additional bottom roller heating, digital NIP-opening readouts, integrated length counter, automatic end-of-roll detection and customized output tables.
