Description

Overview
The Crest LFC-1700 is a continuous laminator with an integrated traversing fly cutter designed for industrial production lines. It performs on-the-fly cross-cutting while the line runs, enabling uninterrupted roll-to-sheet and sheet-to-sheet lamination of flexible foams, rigid panels and composite materials with minimal operator intervention.

Key features
  • On-the-fly cutting with traversing fly cutter for non-stop production
  • Supports single- and double-sided lamination (roll-to-sheet and sheet-to-sheet)
  • Smart PLC control with 9-inch HMI and recipe management
  • Driven, low-resistance roller tables for heavy panels and smooth handling
  • Thermal lamination up to 180°C and cold lamination with PSA and nip-pressure regulation
  • Optimized handling for fragile cores to avoid compression or deformation

Materials & applications
  • Polyurethane (PU) foam and other flexible foam types (rolls and sheets)
  • Wood sheets, MDF, sandwich and composite panels
  • Thermal lamination films, hotmelt adhesives, pressure-sensitive films (PSA), technical scrims and non-wovens

Capabilities
  • Maximum processing width: 1700 mm
  • Typical foam thickness on rolls: 10–30 mm
  • Loose-sheet thickness ranges referenced: typically 10–150 mm (other references note up to 50 mm for specific sheet configurations)
  • Hot lamination: up to 180°C
  • Workflow modes: roll-to-sheet and sheet-to-sheet; single or double-sided lamination

Automation & integration
The LFC-1700 is built for inline integration: smart PLC architecture, recipe recall and automated batch counting. Optional upstream automatic sheet feeders and downstream pick-and-place outfeed units enable a fully automated lamination workflow with minimal operator tasks.

Cutting & workflow
The traversing fly cutter synchronises with production speed to perform cross-cuts while material advances, eliminating start-stop cycles, preventing throughput loss and avoiding deformation of delicate cores.

Best suited for
  • High-volume continuous production of laminated sheets
  • Processing polyurethane foam (rolls and sheets), wood, MDF and composite panels up to 1700 mm
  • Applications requiring hot lamination or cold PSA lamination with precise nip control
  • Lines targeting full automation with optional feeders and pick-and-place systems

What the LFC-1700 handles
  • Polyurethane foam and other flexible foams
  • Wood sheets, MDF and panel materials
  • Composite panels and sandwich structures
  • Thermal lamination films, hotmelt adhesives and pressure-sensitive films (PSA)
  • Decorative laminates, technical scrims and non-wovens

FAQ (selected)
What is on-the-fly cutting?
On-the-fly cutting uses a traversing cross-cutter that moves synchronised with the line to separate sheets while the production continues, preventing backpressure and material deformation.

What materials can the LFC-1700 process?
Flexible cores and rigid substrates up to 1700 mm width: PU foam (rolls 10–30 mm; sheets 10–150 mm with some references up to 50 mm), wood, MDF, sandwich and composite panels; supports thermal films, hotmelt and PSA systems.

How is non-stop production achieved?
Through coordinated drives, high-grip dual-driven lamination rollers, driven infeed/outfeed tables and a traversing fly cutter that cuts within configured gaps without stopping the line.

Can the machine be customised?
Yes — infeed/outfeed table lengths, slitting/knife configurations and PLC interfaces can be adapted to project requirements.

Warranty
5-year warranty available subject to a service agreement.
