OverviewChillers produce chilled water or a water/glycol mixture for building HVAC or process cooling. They are typically paired with air handler coils or process loads: warm fluid returns to the chiller, is cooled, and a pump sends chilled fluid back to the coil or process. Two main types are available: air-cooled chillers that reject heat directly to outdoor air, and water-cooled chillers that reject heat to a secondary fluid loop for disposal via a cooling tower or dry cooler.
