Description

The 6000 Series joint is a self-supported design with the rotor attached to the rotating cylinder by means of a heavy-duty flange, while the joint body is attached to stationary inlet and outlet piping. Dual ball bearings support the housing and allow the rotor to rotate within the joint body, which remains fixed. Sealing is provided by a mechanical seal which uses a flat-faced Carbon Graphite (standard) or Silicon Carbide (ELS) steel-banded floating seal ring that mates against a Tungsten Carbide seal ring face. The 6000 uses a balanced mechanical seal that hydraulically limits contact pressure on both sealing surfaces. The joint body remains fixed throughout the life of the seal. This reduces seal wear for longer life. Seal wear is fully compensated automatically through provision for axial movement of internal seal components, and seals are designed for quick and easy on-machine replacement
