Description
The Type SC is a single- or multistage, self-priming, horizontal side-channel pump. In addition to self-priming capability, side-channel pumps offer an advantage for low flow rates against relatively high discharge heads compared with standard centrifugal pumps. The axial suction inlet together with the upstream radial impeller results in low NPSH values. Stages are sealed against the atmosphere by chambered O-rings. The pump shaft is supported on the discharge side in a grease-lubricated rolling bearing; a SiC sleeve bearing is fitted on the suction side. A guide apparatus acts as a pressure-holding stage so that enough liquid remains in the pump at shutdown to permit reliable restarting even with a suction lift.
