Description

Overview
The Blendcon™ Batch Blender is designed for discrete batch processing of dry bulk powders where the vessel must fully discharge after blending. It is suitable for blend formulations requiring lot tracking, handling of abrasive or fragile materials, and flexible batch sizes.

Performance and capacity
Available in four models to cover batch volumes from approximately 5 ft³ to 4000 ft³. Blend times depend on material properties and model selection; for example, a 300 ft³ batch can be blended in ~4 minutes while a 4000 ft³ batch can be blended in ~30 minutes under typical conditions.

How it works
Blending is achieved by pulsing compressed air or inert gas upward in a circular pattern to lift, turn and tumble the material. Rapid expansion of the gas produces high kinetic energy that promotes thorough mixing with a low number of pulses. The cone discharge valve reduces dead zones and minimizes segregation during discharge. No internal mixer arms or blades are used, reducing wear and clogging when processing abrasive or fragile powders.

Cleanout and maintenance
Smooth interior vessel surfaces minimize product buildup. The absence of internal shafts, blades or piping reduces entrapment points and simplifies cleanout between batches, supporting faster product changeover and lower maintenance effort.

Control
Blending intensity and action are controlled via adjustable pulse duration, pulse frequency, air pressure and air volume. These variables are configurable to optimize blending for specific bulk materials and process requirements.
