The 1081 series utilizes a single-rope crane grab, suitable for loading and transporting large materials. The unit is capable of self-grabbing, through the clamshell bucket's closing and opening system. The device functions by lowering the clamshell bucket onto the loading area. This is the point where the shell closes and brings up the bulk material, when it is lifted. As it is lowered again, the shells are opened and emptied.
