The JUNICOR cylindrical corundum grinding machine (platform 3) is a modular solution for precision diameter and face grinding of shafts and similar components. Configurable in the 3S and 3L platforms, it supports small to medium production runs and frequent changeovers with reduced setup time.

Grinding process descriptions
On platform 3 the JUNICOR performs precise diameter and face grinding, including angular plunge-cut grinding for turbocharger shafts and other high-precision shaft parts.

Special solutions

• Wheelhead - Multiple wheelhead and table configurations are available, from standard assemblies to custom solutions adapted to specific part geometries and production requirements.
• Wheelhead variants - Variants with up to three grinding spindles increase process flexibility and enable multi-operation sequences.

Equipment and options

• Machine bed - Mineral-cast bed for damping, torsional rigidity and thermal stability.
• Clamping fixture - Patented 3-point mounting interface for fast mounting and centring of grinding wheels, dressing tools and workholding devices; tailstock/workhead adjustment via chain wheel, hydraulic cylinder or CNC rack-and-pinion axis; optional airlift.
• Longitudinal positioning - Touch probe measures axial position to compensate blank length variations; values are integrated automatically by the control system.
• Steadies - Optional self-centering three-point steadies with tracking hydraulic jaws provide stable support and balanced force distribution.
