It is not a wellness programme, but an indispensable processing step for many products: The steam bath in the SCHULE hydrothermal conditioner.
Flaking, Hydrothermal treatment, Parboiling
Oats, Rice, Spelt, Buckwheat, Wheat, Rye, Barley, Sunflower seeds, Quinoa, Peas, Lentils
For the preparation of the flaking process or the inactivation of fat-splitting enzymes in oats, the specific effect of steam is of great importance. It makes the respective product plastically deformable and, for example, reduces the percentage of broken grains during flaking.
Before the product dwells in a hydrothermal conditioner, it passes through the steamer made of stainless steel. Via a special hollow shaft with paddles, steam is introduced uniformly into the product. The respective product then undergoes heat treatment at a steam temperature of approx. 90 - 100 °C. After steam has been added, the product passes through the so-called tempering zone of the conditioner in which the introduced moisture acts on the product.
The round shape of the hydrothermal conditioner contributes to a uniform effect of the steam and at the same time ensures the mass flow of the product - first in, first out.
The hydrothermal conditioner is manufactured in three sizes and can be combined easily with all variants of our flaking roller mill.
