The compact beam saw designed for efficient panel sizing in woodworking and industrial panel processing. The FORMAT4 kappa automatic classic delivers precise crosscutting and ripping in a reduced footprint, available with 3,200 mm or 4,300 mm cutting length. The main saw unit is driven by a 7.5 kW motor (max blade Ø 320 mm, blade projection 68 mm) and the machine is operated via an intuitive Windows-based touchscreen.

Detailed features
The kappa automatic classic can be equipped with automatic front lifting tables that replace the standard side tables with solid scissor lifting tables, enabling temporary storage and automatic processing of panel stacks up to 240 mm. The side tables use three separately controlled fans for the air cushion, ensuring smooth panel handling and reduced friction. An additional operating terminal on the air cushion table is available to save time during production. The saw carriage drive speed is adjustable from 1–40 m/min via the control panel; rack-and-pinion guidance guarantees consistent cutting quality. The pressure beam lowers before the cut to press the workpiece onto the saw table, supports dust and chip extraction and its pressure can be manually regulated up to 3 bar. Cutting optimisation software (e.g. Ardis) can generate labels for each workpiece (order number, use, CNC program, edge-banding instructions) to support traceability and automation.
