Description

Sample preparation in a controlled atmosphere
The ultra-compact FRITSCH Mini-Mill P-23 Glove Box ready is the perfect solution for precise and efficient grinding in a controlled atmosphere. It is the ideal device for chemical syntheses or reactions that need to take place in an oxygen- and moisture-free atmosphere. It is also suitable for processing a wide range of toxic or hazardous substances. This includes work in an isolator when working with biohazardous, radioactive or pharmacologically active substances.
The P-23 glovebox ready is also used in the field of materials research and development. Especially applications in the field of battery development or mechanochemistry should be mentioned here. In this context, the P-23 glovebox ready is an excellent, cost-effective, and space-saving solution. Now equipped with a brushless DC motor and a membrane keypad.

The FRITSCH mill offers you the following advantages:
  • Maximum precision: Thanks to the vertically oscillating movements with up to 3,000 oscillations per minute and an amplitude of 9 mm, you can achieve the finest particle sizes.
  • Safety and control: Work with sensitive or hazardous materials in an inert gas-filled glovebox without compromising on safety or quality.
  • No sparking: Brushless motors do not produce ionising sparks, which increases safety in a glovebox.
  • No wear and dust formation on the sliding contacts: Thus, suitable for use even in sensitive areas.
  • User-friendly: The clear and functional buttons on the membrane keypad ensure intuitive operation. The membrane keypad enables simple and precise operation, even when wearing gloves.
  • Remote control thanks to USB interface: The USB interface attached to the device and specially provided Windows control software mean that the device can also be controlled effortlessly from the outside via the USB-C connection to the PC.
  • Simple handling and compact design: The P- 23 glovebox ready is easy to operate, clean and maintain. This allows you to concentrate fully on your research. Due to its small size, it can also be placed in small inert gas boxes or isolators.
  • High efficiency: Brushless motors offer more torque per watt and are therefore very energy efficient.
  • High reliability: Fewer moving parts mean less maintenance and greater reliability.
  • Robust and durable: Membrane keypads are resistant to environmental influences and mechanical stress.
  • Maximum flexibility: Thanks to the newly integrated permanent operation, it is now possible to control the running time manually in addition to freely adjustable grinding times.

Overview
The ultra-compact FRITSCH Mini-Mill is ideal for fine comminution of smallest quantities of medium-hard, brittle and moist samples – wet, dry or cryogenic. Its special spherical grinding bowl ensures a much better performance in grinding, mixing and homogenizing compared with similar models. Very compact (footprint approx. 20 x 30 cm) and weight (approx. 7 kg); available as Vibratory Mill and as a glovebox-ready version.

AT A GLANCE
  • For smallest sample volumes up to 15 ml for dry, wet and cryogenic grinding
  • Especially effective grinding due spherical grinding bowls
  • Precisely adjustable and reproducible grinding time
  • Very simple operation, cleaning and maintenance

Ideal for
  • Precise and efficient grinding in a controlled atmosphere
  • Chemical analysis
  • Pharmaceuticals and medicine
  • Materials research and development
  • Battery development - mechanochemistry

Working principle
The sample is ground through impact and friction between grinding balls and the inside wall of the spherical grinding bowl. For this, the grinding bowl performs vertically oscillating movements with 900 – 3,000 oscillations per minute at 9 mm amplitude.
In contrast to similar mills, a clearly better degree of efficiency is achieved due to the spherical-shaped inside of the grinding bowl

Features
  • Fast, reproducible comminution
  • Extremely compelling in price and in performance
  • Convenient grinding bowl mount with plug-style closures practical and quick clamping system
  • Grinding bowl oscillations: 900 - 3,000 oscillations/min at 9 mm amplitude
  • Regulated oscillation frequency (15 – 50 Hz)
  • Small grinding bowl volumes for smallest sample quantities 0.1 ml – 15 ml
  • Low contact surface area with grinding elements
  • USB-C connection for P-23 Control software and firmware updates
  • Extensive accessories for simplifying your daily work

Improved grinding performance
A unique feature of this model is the spherical inner walls of the grinding bowls (rather than cylindrical). Advantages: significantly more effective grinding, easier recovery of the material and simpler cleaning. The spherical grinding bowls are assembled simply and quickly, just twist and turn!

Biotechnological application and smallest sample quantities
  • PTFE bowl in 5 and 30 ml PTFE are especially suited for biotechnology applications, grinding bowls can be pre-cool in liquid nitrogen for cryogenic sample preparation.
  • Container for single-use-tubes is available for grinding extremely small liquid samples (up to six 0.5 ml, 1.5 ml or 2 ml PCR tubes) using 1 mm grinding balls per tube.
