Description

Product overview
SUPER TECH BPP marine vacuum insulation panels combine BVP vacuum technology with a hot-formed rigid PIR composite shell to provide cryogenic thermal insulation for membrane-type LNG and LPG ship tanks. Designed for cryogenic temperatures from -196°C to -100°C, the panels deliver low effective thermal conductivity and mechanical protection for long-term maritime operation.

Advantages
  • Armor-grade vacuum protection (BVP technology): Stainless-steel-encased vacuum core with hot-formed rigid shell minimizes leak and swelling risks associated with conventional VIP barrier films.
  • Cryogenic PIR composite: Rigid PIR core offers improved physical and fire performance compared with conventional polyurethane; suitable for ultra-low temperatures.
  • Fast, reliable installation: Panels are bonded to flat insulation boards with low-temperature-resistant adhesive and serve as the primary insulation layer for membrane tanks, enabling efficient installation workflows.

Product value
  • Improved thermal efficiency: Extremely low effective thermal conductivity — a 40 mm BPP panel provides insulation comparable to 100 mm of conventional polyurethane, reducing daily boil-off rate (BOR).
  • Marine-compliant safety and environment: No fiber shedding and no VOCs; enhanced fire and corrosion resistance meet maritime safety and environmental requirements.
  • Space and cost optimization: Ultra-thin profile increases usable tank volume and lowers operational costs through reduced BOR and better cargo capacity.
  • Durability and stable performance: Stainless-steel enclosure and controlled manufacturing minimize corner deformation and leakage, ensuring long service life.

Applications
  • Membrane-type LNG carriers
  • Ethylene carriers (LEG) and fully refrigerated ethylene tanks (-104°C)
  • Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU)
  • LPG carriers (fully or semi-refrigerated propane/butane tanks)
  • Deep-freeze refrigerated vessels (e.g., -60°C cargo holds)
  • LNG-fuelled ships (fuel tanks and gas supply systems in compact machinery spaces)

Technical specifications
  • Technology: BVP vacuum core with hot-formed rigid PIR composite shell.
  • Operating temperature range: suitable for cryogenic conditions from -196°C to -100°C.
  • Thickness performance: 40 mm BPP ≈ insulation of 100 mm conventional polyurethane (very low effective thermal conductivity).
  • Mechanical protection: hot-formed rigid shell and stainless-steel enclosure for puncture and corrosion resistance.
  • Installation: bonded to flat insulation board with low-temperature adhesive; designed as primary insulation for membrane-type ship tanks.
  • Environmental & safety: no fiber dust, no VOCs; improved fire performance vs. polyurethane.
  • Operational benefits: ultra-thin profile increases cargo capacity and reduces boil-off; extremely low overall leak rate for long-term stability.
