Description

Product Overview
Recommended for high-pressure hydraulic lines in longwall mining equipment and roof-support systems. Suitable for petroleum-based or water emulsion fluids. Two-wire braid construction with static and dynamic pressure ratings marked on the hose.

Key Features
  • Intended for high-pressure hydraulic lines in longwall mining and roof-support systems using petroleum-based or water-emulsion fluids.
  • Couplings: MegaCrimp™ (-4, -6, -8, -12, -16, -20) and GSP (-24, -32).
  • Dynamic working pressure per BCS174 accounts for frequent pressure surges in service.
  • MegaTuff™ cover provides significantly increased abrasion resistance and improved ozone/weathering resistance (ISO 6945 abrasion testing).
  • Qualification testing: 100,000 impulse cycles at 133% of the dynamic working pressure.
  • Static working pressure applies to circuits with minimal pressure surging and allows higher allowable ratings.
  • BCS174 observes that internal hydraulic circuits in roof support systems operate near steady-state with little dynamic loading; hoses can accept higher static ratings.
  • Per EN 853 2SN: allowable static working pressure is approximately a 1:2.5 ratio to burst pressure.
  • Burst pressures referenced to EN specification (note: Gates minimum burst pressures are higher).
  • Specified as exceeding SAE and ISO requirements in relevant performance aspects.

Technical specifications
  • Construction: Two-wire braid hydraulic hose (EN 853 2SN configuration).
  • Applications: Longwall mining equipment, roof-support systems, high-pressure hydraulic lines.
  • Fluids: Petroleum-based fluids or water emulsion fluids.
  • Coupling compatibility: MegaCrimp™ (-4, -6, -8, -12, -16, -20) and GSP (-24, -32).
  • Standards and testing: EN 853 2SN for static working pressure; ISO 6945 for abrasion testing; qualification includes 100,000 impulse cycles at 133% of dynamic working pressure.
  • Performance notes: MegaTuff™ cover increases abrasion resistance and improves ozone/weathering resistance.
  • Pressure behavior: Dynamic working pressure (BCS174) for frequent surges; static working pressure for near steady-state circuits.
  • Comparative: Burst pressures referenced to EN specification; specified to exceed relevant SAE and ISO aspects.
