Whenever toxic gases, oxygen or hydrogen need to be monitored and you want a display of the current measured value as well as an alarm to be given on site, the EC28 DA transmitter is the best choice - especially when combined with GfG‘s reliable controllers. The ATEX-certified design means it can be used even in potentially explosive atmospheres. Functional safety The EC28's hardware complies with the European Functional Safety Standard DIN EN 61508-2: 2011 for many gases. The SI levels (up to SIL3) in single channel (1oo1) or redundant (1oo2) use depend on the gas type and the sensor. Communication and service The EC28 DA communicates using a 4-20 mA signal. Its Smart Sensor technology allows for fast and easy sensor replacement. Adjustments can be made using the RC2 remote control (one-person calibration). Display, control buttons and alarms The transmitter is controlled via a 2.2 inch LC display and three control buttons. In normal operation, the display shows the measured value or information on faults or alarms. The operating parameters (measured gas, measuring range, limit values, etc.) can be also be accessed using the intuitive control buttons. The EC28 DA has highly visible, red alarm LEDs and a loud, integrated buzzer (90 dB). Any costs for additional, ex-protected alarm devices can therefore be eliminated.
