Description

For certain components sand casting is the method of choice. Model making and permanent mould construction are comparatively inexpensive tools, but nevertheless flexible. After just a short project management stage, they open up every possibility of the aluminium casting process. Sand moulds – in contrast to reusable permanent moulds – are referred to as 'lost moulds'. The sand mould method is used above all for components with multiple sand cores. The sand casting method is well suited both to large runs and small unit numbers. Grohmann is also a leader in compound casting, which combines aluminium with other metals.
